Fun as it was to get back together & play those fantastic songs we wrote so many years ago for a while, our regular lives have unfortunately got in the way ...so we've had to knock it all on the head once again!
A big THANKS to all at High Roller Records & to everyone involved in the past 2/3 years!  :-)

EXCITING NEWS ....Our good friends at High Roller Records have decided to release an official TRUFFLE CD to go with the 3 vinyl albums they have already put out.

We are currently in the process of recording three of the tunes we wrote many moons ago but never ever put down on tape.
We are doing it at the fantastic 2020 studios in Farlington & it's our first time as the band in a studio since 1985!
The three tunes are ...Hot on the streets, Cinderella & UFO
Not sure what we'll do with them once they're done but we will let everyone know as soon as we can!  :-)

Supporting Twisted Sister at Portsmouth Guildhall in April 1983
TRUFFLE were a
heavy rock band from Portsmouth, England that gigged all over the UK in the 80's and early 90's. They released a single “Round tower/If you really want” in 1981,  a cassette single “633 Squadron/Do you like heavy metal” in 1984 and the cassette album “The bacon slicer strikes
The same band also formed a covers band which ran alongside TRUFFLE in 1986 called the (Monday) MAFIA. Both bands gigged for several years but gradually the boys found that more & more  people in pubs wanted to hear cover numbers & so the TRUFFLE gigs slowly fell off & the MAFIA ones increased.
The MAFIA are still gigging (click link on the left for the MAFIA website) and in April 2011 at their 25th anniversary gig at the Heroes,  Waterlooville in April 2011 TRUFFLE performed 3 songs live, the first time they had done so in nearly 20 years.

In 2011 a German record company HIGH ROLLER RECORDS remastered and released  most of the material TRUFFLE had recorded  on 3 vinyl albums “If you really want”, “1st Attempt” & “The bacon slicer strikes again”  ...fantastic for the boys after nearly 30 years!

To purchase any of the 3 x vinyl albums click here....
High Roller Records/Truffle albums
or on the HR Records link on the top left of your screen.

Each of the 3 albums comes with a large folded insert containing lots of info, photos & song lyrics.
All 3 albums are also available as a coloured vinyl option! ...again, click on the link above for details!

If you really want ...

  3. Aah memories of Monday nights at the Salutation and the bands playing there being unable to rouse the landlord Fred so they could get set up in time.
A must for anyone that wants to wallow in nostalgia for a Portsmouth music scene long dead and buried.
